A Kingdom Listener Asks Questions

Philippians 3:10 (AMPC)

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]

To have an intimate relationship, wouldn’t you need to be an excellent communicator?

Would you say that Jesus is our model?

Jesus asked 305 questions.

Jesus asked questions as if He were curious.

Why do you doubt?

Why do you worry?

Do you believe I am able to do this?

What is the Kingdom of God Like?

Do you wish to get well?

Who do you say I am?

God asked 300 questions.

Isiah, whom shall I send?

Moses, what is that in your hand?

Cain, what have you done?

Hagar, where are you going?

Elijah, what are you doing here?

Adam, where are you? Who told you that you were naked?

The questions Jesus asked and still asks today are open-ended questions. They require introspection, reveal what is in your heart, challenge your beliefs, and uncover lies.

So, if Jesus is our model, shouldn’t we be asking Him questions and listening for His answers?

Jesus, what do you want to say to me right now?

Jesus, what do you want me to understand or see differently in me, others, or the situation I am in?

Jesus, why am I feeling this way?

During Encounter, I encourage our participants to ask three questions, then listen, and write the first thing they hear, or what comes to mind. It may be a picture, a word, or a memory.

1)     Jesus, what lie am I believing that keeps me from having an intimate relationship with you?

2)     Father, what lie am I believing that keeps me from having an intimate relationship with you?

3)     Holy Spirit, what lie am I believing that keeps me from having an intimate relationship with you?

I believe you should ask this question often.

1 John 3:8 AMP

The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].

Lies are the work of the devil, and Jesus came to destroy those lies, but first, they need to be revealed.

Jesus, as we continue, anoint our ears to hear, anoint our eyes to see, and enlighten our understanding.

Eph 1:17,18 TPT

I pray, Father of glory, that you would impart to us the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know you, Jesus, through our deepening intimacy with you.

I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of our imagination, flooding us with light until we experience the full revelation of the hope of your calling —
